Overview

What it is

Spotify Import lets an admin paste a Spotify track, album, artist, or playlist URL and have VeroPlay fetch the metadata automatically — title, artist, artwork, release date, ISRC, duration, and more. Instead of retyping each release by hand, the platform fills in the heavy metadata in seconds.

Imported content is not a blind copy. Admins choose, per track, whether to keep the Spotify embed player or switch to the VeroPlay waveform player by uploading their own audio. Both modes preserve the original Spotify metadata, so nothing is lost in translation.

The original Spotify URL is also stored internally as a reference — never shown publicly — so admins can trace any imported release back to its Spotify source at any time.

Why it matters

Why this feature is important

For artists already on Spotify, retyping every release onto a second platform is friction. Import removes that friction while keeping rights and attribution intact — the catalog moves over with its metadata, not its legal story lost.

Choosing the playback mode per track gives real control. A track can keep the Spotify embed (with its 30-second preview) where that makes sense, and switch to the VeroPlay player with full audio where the rights holder has the file.

Because import preserves ISRC, release date, and artwork, downstream features — public pages, metadata management, audit logs — work as if the release was created manually. Nothing is second-class.

Benefits

Key benefits

What you actually get from this service, in detail.

Import from any Spotify URL

Tracks, albums, artists, and playlists can all be imported by pasting a single Spotify link.

Automatic metadata & artwork

Title, artist, artwork, release date, ISRC, duration and preview URL are fetched and pre-filled automatically.

Per-track playback mode

Keep the Spotify embed, or switch to the VeroPlay player with your own audio — per track, not per catalog.

Original metadata preserved

Release dates, ISRCs, and artwork are kept exactly as they were on import, even after later edits.

How it works

Step by step

The exact process this service follows, from start to published.

01
1

Paste

Admin pastes a Spotify track, album, artist, or playlist URL into the importer.

02
2

Fetch

VeroPlay pulls the metadata, artwork, ISRC, and release date automatically into the upload form.

03
3

Choose

Admin selects Spotify embed or VeroPlay player per track — and uploads audio files where VeroPlay playback is chosen.

04
4

Publish

The release is saved with full metadata preserved, linked to a verified artist profile, and published to its public page.

Use cases

Who it's for

Artists and labels already on Spotify who want to mirror verified, rights-protected releases onto VeroPlay — without retyping metadata or losing their release dates.

Mirroring an existing catalog

Artists who already have a Spotify catalog can mirror verified, rights-protected versions onto VeroPlay without retyping metadata.

Label batch imports

Labels import full albums with one URL each, then add their own audio where the VeroPlay player is preferred.

Playlist curation

Curators import a Spotify playlist and publish a VeroPlay playlist page with the same tracks, presented on a premium page.

Example

A real example workflow

How this looks in practice, end to end.

1

URL pasted

Admin pastes a Spotify album URL into the importer.

2

Metadata fetched

VeroPlay pulls the album, its tracks, artwork, release date, and ISRCs into the upload form.

3

Player & artwork chosen

Admin keeps the Spotify embed for some tracks, uploads audio for others, and keeps or regenerates the artwork.

4

Published

The album is saved under a verified artist profile with every metadata field preserved. The original Spotify URL stays stored internally.

Feature highlights

Sub-features in detail

URL-based import

Tracks, albums, artists, playlists — one URL each.

Metadata preservation

Original release dates and ISRCs are kept untouched.

Dual playback modes

Spotify embed or VeroPlay player, per track.

Internal Spotify URL

Source URL stored internally, never shown publicly.

Trust & quality

How this supports rights & quality

Import is a convenience, not a shortcut around verification. Imported content is still linked to a verified artist profile, still carries rights fields, and is still subject to admin review before publishing.

The original Spotify URL is preserved internally for traceability — so admins can always confirm an imported release maps back to its true source.
